Earlier, the lawyer asks how Rony is doing. He thinks Rony looks drawn and tired. Maybe he may need to go on a vacation or so and get some rest, he suggests. He also asks how
the writing is going. If he has a new book in progress?
And what should Rony answer him? That it was completed for him and that his life ends today. That he has been much down and depressed for a while. That all the tablets he received from different doctors only make him suspended and blunted. And that no psychologist in the world can help him get rid of all the disappointment he knows from everyone, who, to some extent, has made him feel so bad.
Sure, he would have to make new friends and find love. But it is too tricky as he can no longer trust anyone. He feels like everyone he meets is just looking to take advantage of him, for his celebrity and money.
But he needs to find friends who like him for the simple individual he really is. The one that he also usually feels. He himself does not think that he is anything more than everyone else, just because he is famous and has a lot of money. He has writing talent. This then also generates in both money and celebrity.
And after going on these tablets, prescribed by doctors, he begins to feel like a living death for a short time, like a zombie.
No, never more tablets, except for a while then, of course. Then when he takes the help of them to interrupt everything – his life.
THOUGHTS AROUND MÅNS
12 Emma’s New Man
Måns, Emma and new man, thoughts
Måns doesn’t know that Emma has met another man, a little older than he, and is twenty years old. However, it was more he, the new one, who was watching her and making her interested in him.
He is a construction worker and serves reasonably well, lives in his own apartment, has a nice car, nice clothes. And best of all, he probably likes to invite her to a restaurant and other fun and enjoyable events.
Everything has happened behind Måns’s back.
And he doesn’t have a chance to compete against this man. He has neither work nor money. Neither has his own apartment, nice car, expensive clothes – and everything else her new man has, which he does not have.
Besides being very black in the skin and being reasonably tall, one hundred and eighty-five centimeters, he is also very good looking.
Though her new husband might as well be – handsome.
And when it comes to sex, he and Emma haven’t had the slightest problem. They have been able to have intercourse several times in one evening even. And she has never complained.
No, it was probably more to get a little spoiled, as she falls for the new man. He watches her every day and doesn’t give up until he has her on his hook.
Another thing that can be revealed here as well, and that is that Emma thinks Måns is a little too young for her. A four year older man feels better. She also feels that Måns is immature and a bit childish at times.
Maybe the new man simply has a more exciting life to offer her to join. He may have a large and fun family, with siblings – which she thinks is fun.
Måns himself has no siblings. No uncles or aunts on the adoptive mother Veronika’s side. But on the adoptive father Arvid’s side, there are siblings. Although they are a bit boring and Veronika does not meet them. And the adoptive father we know is dead for several years.
And when it comes to the adoptive mother and the adoptive father’s parents, no one is in any way funny or otherwise interesting. They are equally dull for the whole bundle. And Måns doesn’t care that much about meeting them.
THE DRAMA CONTINUES
13 Bad Odds
Måns and Emma, cafe
And so far, we can only state that for Måns, all odds point downwards, in Emma’s case. But all this he does not know and will never know. As I said, she doesn’t want him bad. Although she no longer loves him – as before.
Earlier today, she asks him to come to the cafe, because she has something important to say. But why they can’t meet at his or her home, she doesn’t want to answer.
And inside the café, in the city, they sit quietly with their glasses of juice in front of them on the table. He is very expectant, and she looks nervously with her eyes.
It’s like she doesn’t know where or what to look.
“But why …? What’s wrong? Did I do something ... say something ...?”
She waits to answer him. First, look away at some young people who are leaving their table. Then back at Måns.
He is so kind, pleasant, beautiful, and has enormous charm. But it is not him that is wrong, but only that she has fallen for someone else.
Måns has just received her farewell message at this moment. She assures him that there is absolutely nothing wrong with him. It’s just that she has fallen in love with someone else.
He takes a second sip of his Juice. Her glass is soon empty.
She has a hard time formulating her farewell. However, she chooses to say it – it feels like it will be wrong. This ending is no easy thing. And now that it feels a little awkward to him, she doesn’t really know how to behave. Maybe they are done with each other now, and she can get up and just walk her way?
